About RUSU's Women's Campaign & Feminism society

Official blog of Reading University Women's Campaign Group.

We're a group of like-minded individuals, all wanting to raise awareness, discuss and attempt to change the inequalities of all women on our campus, run by RUSU's Women's officer.

Many people believe that women are equal in all aspects, unaware of the many inequalities that women still face. We are here so people can realise the reality of the situation, through our campaigns, and our termly talk with lecturers on different aspects of feminism.

Also the official blog of the newly formed Feminism society in Reading University.
FemSoc is a fun, welcoming and engaging society for people who are passionate about gender issues!

Throughout the year as well as weekly meetings, we'll be offering a variety of different events:
*Socials-, nights out, movie nights, etc.
*Campaigns- implementing a zero tolerance to sexual harassment at the student’s union policy
*Outings/Trips - Reclaim the Night Walk to celebrate the tenth anniversary in November
*Talks and Debates- 50 Shades of Grey comes out in February, is abuse being romanticised?
*And many more!

We're a new society, having previously been part of the Women's Part Time Officers campaign team, so we'll be aiming to keep the dynamic and engaged current feel of the group going, but with the organisation and privileges of a society. We aim to be very active, and have plenty of member participation and input in planning campaigns and sharing ideas, not just committee members: You can be involved as much or as little as you want to!

We'll be involved with other libertarian societies and aim to have plenty of joint socials, so you can meet as many like-minded people as possible, and together, raise awareness even more effectively. We are an inclusive society so everyone is welcome to join and contribute.
